Usage
The Hepy Urea Rapid Test is designed to detect Helicobacter pylori in biopsy specimens from the stomach or duodenum. The principle of the test is based on the physiological ability of Helicobacter pylori to produce large amounts of urea. This enzyme breaks down the urea present in the test, resulting in the production of ammonia which causes a change in the color of the test ring from yellow to pink and eventually to amaranth and purple.
Test storage conditions
The test is stable at 4°C to 42°C and can be stored until the expiration date in a place protected from sunlight, moisture and the effects of aggressive chemical reagent vapors.
Product Terms of Use
The expiration date is 4 years. The product is non-sterile and single-use.
The presence of H. pylori is indicated by a color change from pink to magenta/amaranth visible on the outer ring.
In case of severe infection, the result is visible after one minute.
If the entire ring remains yellow for up to 60 minutes after biopsy specimens have been placed on the test, it should be assumed that H. pylori is not present in the collected specimens.
