SomnoFit-S is a medical device manufactured in Switzerland by OSCIMED SA, intended to reduce snoring by advancing the mandible during sleep. It is also indicated for mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea with medical evaluation and supervision.

The device consists of two oral splint, one for the upper arch and one for the lower arch. They adapt to the user's dentition by thermoforming and connect with a flexible band that fixes the position of the mandible.

How does SomnoFit-S work?

During sleep, relaxation of the tissues in the neck area can narrow the airway and promote snoring. SomnoFit-S keeps the mandible a few millimeters forward, helping to free up space behind the tongue and improve air passage.

The effect differs from person to person. The choice of the band, the adaptation of the gaiters and the anatomical peculiarities influence the comfort and the result of use.

Adaptation to the shape of the teeth

The two oral splint are thermoformable. Before use, they are heated and shaped on the teeth according to the manufacturer's instructions to obtain an individual impression.

The package includes a water temperature indicator and a fingerprint plate. Fully respects the procedure in the manual; do not put the mouthpieces in boiling water or put the device in the mouth if it is too hot.

8 bands for mandibular advancement adjustment

Set contains 8 flexible strips of different lengths, which allow adjusting the position of the mandible. The adjustment aims to achieve a balance between comfort and snoring reduction.

The advance must be adjusted progressively according to the manual. A stronger pull does not automatically mean a better result and may cause discomfort.

What differentiates SomnoFit-S from classic SomnoFit?

SomnoFit-S has a more compact design, with a reduced volume compared to the classic model, and uses 8 adjustment strips, while the classic SomnoFit is equipped with 6 bands. The flexible structure allows adaptation to the width of the arch.

The SomnoFit-S variant is intended for small and medium arcades. For large arches, the manufacturer offers the SomnoFit-B model separately.

Main features

Cleaning and maintenance

After use, rinse the device with clean water and gently clean it with a dedicated brush. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning with denture products and rinse thoroughly before reuse.

Check the condition of oral splint and tapes daily. Replace the device if there are cracks, tears or significant damage. For long periods of non-use, dry it completely and store it in its case.

Contraindications and important information

Do not use SomnoFit-S in the following situations:

• Age under 18.
• Wearing removable or partial dentures.
• Jaw joint pains.
• Mobile or unstable teeth or less than 10 teeth in any arch.
• Bruxism: Clenching or grinding of the teeth.

Medical and dental evaluation before use and periodic check-ups are recommended. Tooth sensitivity, jaw discomfort, changes in salivation or bite may occur.

Discontinue use and consult physician if unpleasant effects persist or if jaw does not return to normal position after removal of device. Do not change your prescribed apnea treatment without your doctor's advice. Keep the product and its components away from children and animals.
