Somnolence is a medical device that works by mandibular advancement. Positions the lower jaw slightly forward, helping to free up space behind the tongue and reduce snoring during sleep.
The device sits on the dental arches and keeps the mandible a few millimeters forward. This positioning favors the passage of air through the airways.
Somnolis does not require heating in water or making a dental impression. The 4 included bands allow adjustment of the mandibular advancement, according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Somnolis is intended for snoring reduction and occasional use, for example when travelling, camping or holidays. For obstructive sleep apnea, occasional use is only done after medical consultation.
For nightly and long-term wear, the manufacturer recommends an individually adapted dental impression device, such as SomnoFit.
Clean the device according to the instructions and rinse it thoroughly with clean water before reuse. Periodically check the material and replace the device if cracks, tears or other damage appear. Keep it away from light.
Do not use the device if:
Discontinue use if you notice tooth movement, difficulty returning the mandible to its usual position, irritation or allergic reactions. If symptoms persist, see your doctor.
Read the instructions before use. If you have any doubts about the health of your teeth or jaw, consult your dentist.
